At Gratia Cura Residential, we are proud to offer high-quality, in-house staff training delivered by our own highly qualified and experienced trainers. With years of hands-on expertise in children's residential and adult care, our trainers bring a deep understanding of real-world challenges and best practices into every session.

Previously, we relied on outsourced training providers, but by transitioning to in-house delivery, we’ve significantly enhanced the effectiveness, flexibility, and responsiveness of our training.

This shift allows us to:

Act swiftly to any incidents that may require staff retraining
Conduct thorough debriefs following incidents to ensure learning and continuous improvement
Avoid delays caused by the scheduling limitations of external training providers

Our in-house model means we can maintain high standards of practice, reinforce our values in real time, and respond dynamically to the evolving needs of our teams.

Rebecca-Jane Lanigan

Meet Our Trainer – Rebecca

Rebecca brings over 30 years of experience in the health and social care sector, making her an invaluable asset to our training team. Her extensive background includes holding managerial positions in adult care settings on two occasions, where she led teams with a strong focus on quality care, compliance, and staff development.

For the past year, Rebecca has been a dedicated Deputy Manager with Gratia Cura Residential Services, playing a key role in supporting our young people and upholding the highest standards of care.

In addition to her leadership experience, Rebecca is a qualified Community First Responder with South Central Ambulance Service, bringing advanced knowledge of emergency care and response into her training sessions.

Rebecca’s wealth of experience, professional insight, and hands-on approach ensure that every training session she delivers is informative, practical, and grounded in real-world expertise.

Registered Manager And Training Facilitator

Luke Dundas

Luke's career began in Youth Justice, where he progressed to the role of Duty Operations Manager at a Secure Training Centre, working for a global security company. In this position, he was responsible for the day-to-day logistics, staff management, and incident coordination within a secure setting.

Seeking to broaden his experience, he moved overseas, where he worked as a Corrections Officer in the Men's prison system and later as a Senior Residential Youth Worker at a secure youth justice facility. These roles allowed him to develop a strong skill set in behaviour management, risk assessment, and team leadership, building on over a decade of experience across youth justice and corrections.

For the past five years, he has worked within children’s residential care in the UK, progressing from Residential Support Worker to Deputy Manager within two years with an established residential childcare company. He holds a Level 3 and 4 qualifications in Residential Childcare, and a Level 5 qualification in Children, Young People, and Families Management.

With a passion for structure, consistency, and positive outcomes, he brings a strong background in logistics and behavioural support, and is committed to helping Gratia Cura achieve the very best outcomes for the young people in our care.
